Chorley Circle’s visit to Ringway Circle

At its February meeting, Chorley Circle enjoyed a visit by several Brothers from Ringway Circle, led by Chorley Brother Brian Bunting, who now lives in Handforth and is a joint member with that Circle. They were awarded Chorley’s Out-of-Province Visitors’ Trophy, a pair of miniature clogs set on a wooden base.

On 19th May, 6 Chorley Brothers, accompanied by 3 of their ladies, trekked down to Davenport Golf Club near Poynton in Cheshire, to a Ringway Circle meeting, and to reclaim the trophy. They received a warm welcome from the Brothers of Ringway, and, in addition to reclaiming the Chorley Trophy, were awarded Ringway’s Out-of-Province visitors’ trophy, a brass model of Concorde on a wooden base. In the near future, Ringway Brothers intend to visit Chorley again to reclaim their trophy. This could become a regular exchange of visitors.

After the Circle meeting Brothers & Ladies enjoyed each others’ company at dinner, and then a short, interesting, presentation by Ringway President Brother Mark Kernberg about Edinburgh Castle, where he had been a guide for several years.
